When Is the Best Time

Explore Tasmania’s Evercreech Rainforest, home to the world’s tallest white gums. Walk beneath 90-meter giants, discover hidden waterfalls, and enjoy peaceful trails far from the crowds.

📍 How to Get There

Evercreech Reserve is located in northeast Tasmania, accessible via a well-maintained gravel road. While the road is in good condition, a 4WD is recommended, especially after heavy rain. The reserve is open year-round, but crossing the rivulet can be tricky in wet conditions.

Trail Overview

The reserve features two short loop trails forming a figure-eight:

  • One leads to the towering White Knights — the tallest white gums on Earth, protected since 1977
  • The other follows the Evercreech Rivulet to a small but scenic waterfall

Combined, the trails are under 4 km, but allow at least an hour to enjoy the walk and take photos. You’ll pass through lush rainforest filled with fern trees, sassafras, Tasmanian myrtle, and Blackwood.

Picnic & Facilities

The picnic area near the carpark is a great place to relax before or after your walk. It is equipped with:

  • BBQ facilities
  • Toilets
  • Shaded tables
